The venue where the conference will take place is the Thermotechnical Institute of the KU Leuven.
The Thermotechnical Institute is the Virtual Museum of Historical Engines at the KU Leuven, featuring a unique collection of steam, diesel, jet and several 1935-1945 airplane piston engines. The Thermotechnical Institute and the auditorium next to it will house the conference; session breaks and lunches will be held here as well.
ACCESS:
To get to the conference venue, for those staying in downtown Leuven or near the station, the best way is to go by bus (unless you rent a bike, which is even better). Bus number 2 goes from the train station, through the downtown core (Grote Markt) and eventually to the Heverlee campus of the KU Leuven (you can get off at the stop “Heverlee Kantineplein” or the next stop “Hevelee Campus Arenberg II”; these stops are before the very last stop, which is also within the campus). The bus terminal at the train station is directly connected to the station, in the downtown side. You can pay for the ride on the bus, in advance (cheaper) or buy a multiple ride Lijnkaart (also cheaper); advance purchase is possible at the train station bus terminal. You may also take a taxi; you can let our registration desk know when you need a taxi to pick you up on campus for the return trip.
